Introduction to the CBC Golf Society
The CBC Golf Society was originally formed in 1995 by members of the Chiltern Business Club and as such membership of the Club automatically includes free membership of the Golf Society. Since that time the Golf Society has grown to a membership of around 50 men and women, of whom about a quarter are currently members of the Chiltern Business Club itself.
The bulk of the Golf Society membership are owners of small businesses within the Thames Valley/Aylesbury Vale region of Buckinghamshire, thereby providing excellent networking opportunities within an informal environment. Society members are also encouraged to bring a guest (perhaps an important client) to any of the matches.
The Society plays seven matches a year (from April to October inclusive) at golf clubs generally located within 20 miles radius of Prestwood. Currently, the seven matches are selected each year from the following courses:
| Ashridge | Harewood Downs | Northwood |
| Beaconsfield | Harleyford | Sandy Lodge |
| Berkhamsted | Henley | Stoke Park |
| Burnham Beeches | Lambourne | Studley Wood |
| Chiltern Forest | Maidenhead | The Buckinghamshire |
| Ellesborough | Mentmore | The Oxfordshire |
| Flackwell Heath | Mill Ride | West Herts |
| Gerrards Cross | Moor Park | Winter Hill |
Listed below are the matches for the 2012 season, please note the dates in your diaries and tell your clients that you are ‘on a course’ (which is naturally correct) and therefore unavailable!

Prizes are awarded for the 1st, 2nd & 3rd places, together with a team prize and a prize for the person with the ‘most honest handicap’ as well as prizes for ‘nearest the pin’ and ‘the longest drive’ competitions.
In addition, the CBC Golf Society members, but not their guests, who participate in any match will be eligible for entry into the Golf Society’s annual scoring competition. The rules are straightforward; the CBC member with the FOUR best scores from the SEVEN matches of the current season are awarded a special prize, which is presented at our Annual Dinner held in the January following the current seasonWe publish the current leadboard here...
